The story inside Caged Homeland
In this artwork, the mind has become a closed room for the idea of home. The vertical bars pass through the face because the prison is mental, not physical. Inside the head sits a map of Iran, but it is not just a geographic place on a globe. It is a private version of a country made of personal memories, family stories, and individual beliefs. The truth is that every person carries a completely different version of Iran in their head. We end up trapped by our own ideas of what it means to be Iranian, while the homeland itself becomes a prisoner inside our private minds.
